Mugi Awaya and Hanabi Yasuraoka, both 17, appear to be the ideal couple. They are both very popular and seem to be very close to each other. However, others are unaware of the deep secret they share. Both of them have strong feelings for someone else and are only together to alleviate their loneliness. Mugi is in love with Akane Minagawa, a young teacher who was previously his tutor. Hanabi is in love with a young male teacher, a family friend she has known since childhood. The two have found a place to lament about those they cannot have in each other, and they engage in a physical relationship that is a result of their loneliness. Will things always remain this way?
